MAUSTON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Lottery announced Tuesday that a $1 million winning Powerball ticket was sold in Mauston.
Officials said the ticket was sold at the Kwik Trip on Gateway Avenue on Saturday, the second time this year that a $1 million Powerball winner was sold in Wisconsin. This is the third time in the last five years that that Kiwk Trip location has sold a winning Powerball ticket.
“We may be a small city but we’re a pretty large truck stop,” staff member Britney Hall said in a statement. “It will be exciting to see who the winner is. It would be great if it were a local person.”
The Gateway Avenue Kwik Trip has also sold two winning Badger 5 tickets in the last five years. The store will be given $20,000 for selling Saturday’s winning ticket as part of the Retailer Performance Program Winning Ticket Incentive.
Lottery officials said that the odds of winning a $1 million Powerball are 1-11,688,054.
