MADISON, Wis. — If you live in Madison, do not set out brush on your curbside for pickup. Brush collection is over for 2022.
City officials said that nearly all of Madison’s neighborhoods have been given five guaranteed chances for brush collection this year, and Streets Division crews are working to complete pickup for neighborhoods on the city’s far west side.
If you still need to get rid of larger woody material cut from trees, shrubs and bushes, you can use one of the Streets Division drop-off sites. Only Madison residents are allowed to use the sites.
Residents can make one trip to a site daily and can only drop off enough brush that would fit in the back of a standard pickup truck bed. Residents are asked not to mix yard waste and leaves in with the brush.
Officials said that brush collection is ending now so that crews can transition to collecting yard waste and leaves. Opportunities for curbside brush pickup will not return until spring 2023.
