The Iowa DNR says several factors are causing deer to be more active this time of the year and drivers should be on the lookout. The first reason is bowhunting season is underway and the presence of hunters is creating activity. Secondly, acorns are falling and that will move deer into areas with mature oaks. Finally, chilly morning temperatures can also impact activity, you should be on the lookout for deer during the dawn and dusk times of the day.
