MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin Department of Administration Secretary-designee Kathy Blumenfeld toured small businesses in Madison and Potosi Wednesday to highlight some of the state’s investments to help businesses recover following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Blumenfeld and other local leaders visited businesses on Monroe Street in Madison Wednesday morning and in downtown Potosi Wednesday afternoon that received grant funding from the state to help support them amid the pandemic.
Among the stops was Monroe Street Framing, which received money from the We’re All In and Wisconsin Tomorrow grants.
“The pandemic assistance, the funding, those were very often lifelines that ensured many of us could make payroll, pay bills, keep the community going. Even if it was just for one day, one week. And that meant everything,” owner Michelle Waldeck said in a news release.
