MADISON, Wis. — The Madison Fire Department is hiring.
For the first time in three years, MFD is accepting applications for full-time firefighter and EMT positions. No previous fire or EMT experience is required to apply.
MFD has removed the citizenship requirement for the positions, meaning that anyone who has the legal right to work in the U.S. is eligible to apply, regardless of citizenship status.
The department has also shifted the initial testing round of the application process to an online multiple-choice exam. The test had previously been given in person with only one day and testing location offered. Now, the test can be scheduled outside normal business hours and will be administered over an eight-week period.
Applications are now open and will be accepted until November 30 at 11:59 p.m. You can submit your application through the City of Madison’s employment website.
