BLUE MOUNDS, Wis. — A home in the Town of Blue Mounds is considered a total loss after a fire early Saturday.
Crews were called to the 2500 block of County Highway JG just after 1 a.m. In total, emergency crews from eight different municipalities responded to the incident.
Dane County Sheriff’s officials said one person was inside the home at the time of the fire, but they were able to get out safely. Two cats were also inside the home, and they remain unaccounted for.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but officials said it did not appear suspicious.
