TOWN OF ALBION, Wis. — A home is considered a total loss after a fire in the Town of Albion Saturday morning.
Crews were called to the 500 block of Albion Road just after 6 a.m. One person was inside the home when the fire broke out.
Dane County Sheriff’s officials said that the person was able to evacuate safely before the fire spread.
Speaking to News Now, Edgerton Fire Chief Randy Pickering said crews found two buildings on the property on fire, the home and a garage. A preliminary investigation appears to show that the fire started on a deck between the home and garage. High winds in the area likely helped spread the flames.
Neither the homeowner nor any firefighters were hurt during the response.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but Dane County officials said it does not appear suspicious.
