FITCHBURG, Wis. — Fitchburg police are asking the public to avoid a residential area off of Fish Hatchery Road as law enforcement officials try to track down a suspect who reportedly ran into an area home Monday morning.
Lieutenant Andrew McCarthy with the Fitchburg Police Department told News 3 Now that officers responded to the scene after a vehicle crashed outside a home; the driver of that vehicle then ran into a nearby home and had refused to leave as of 9:45 a.m.
Authorities said they’re asking the public to avoid the 2000 block of Post Road and the 1800 block of Coho Street as police try to make contact with the subject.
Madison police are also involved in the investigation, according to Lt. McCarthy.
This is a developing story that will be updated as more information is made available.
