National Drug Take Back Day Collects Over 320 Pounds in Dubuque

The Dubuque Drug Task Force, in conjunction with the Asbury Police Department, Peosta Police Department, and the Area Substance Abuse Counseling Center participated in a nationwide effort sponsored by the DEA to collect old and unused prescription medication, vitamins, herbals, supplements, syringes, and other items on Saturday as part of the National Take Back Program. The total weight of prescription and non-prescription medication collected during the event was 321.20 pounds. The total weight of sharps with 76.8 pounds. The items collected will be incinerated at a later date.
