MADISON, Wis. — “Superheroes” from the Madison Police Department visited and dropped off donations Monday at the American Family Children’s Hospital.
While Halloween is a day of exploration, sugar and excitement for many children, those in the hospital don’t get the same experience. That’s why police officers dressed up in superhero costumes to visit patients.
“What an incredible opportunity for us as police officers and people who are in public service to just be able to spend some time with kids today,” Ofc. Emily Samson said. “It’s Halloween, so who shouldn’t be able to smile and laugh and dress up?”
Every year for Halloween, UW Health Kids staff members bring patients who aren’t able to trick-or-treat goodie bags with stickers, games, and toys.
