MADISON, Wis. — The Dane County Sheriff’s Office says it is investigating a burglary after someone got into a home using a garage door opener from an unlocked car in the driveway.
Officials say the burglary likely happened sometime between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. Wednesday at a home on Saddle Brooke Trail in the Town of Bristol, north of Sun Prairie.
The suspect or suspects stole multiple sets of car keys from the home, as well as credit cards and other valuable items.
The Sheriff’s Office did not have any additional details about the suspects. Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call the Dane County tip line at (608) 284-9000.
The Sheriff’s Office is also urging people to be vigilant about locking their car doors when parked outside and making sure their home and garage doors are locked.
