WATERTOWN, Wis. — A 67-year-old man from Cambria is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash on Highway 26 near Watertown, authorities in Dodge County said Tuesday afternoon.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened at about 1:30 p.m. on Highway 26 near a roundabout for Highway 19 on the western edge of Watertown.
Their initial investigation found that the man was allegedly involved in a minor hit-and-run crash on Highway 26 near Juneau before speeding south and crashing again. Deputies got reports of the more severe crash near Watertown, and a Dodge County Sheriff’s Office lieutenant found the man trapped inside the truck and unresponsive.
Authorities say the man was still breathing when he was flown by Flight For Life to a local hospital after the Watertown Fire Department helped cut him out of the vehicle.
Both crashes remain under investigation.
