MADISON, Wis. — Soccer fans in Madison were amped up to watch Friday afternoon’s World Cup match between the United States and England.
Dozens of people packed Forward Madison’s club at Breese Stevens Field to support Team USA.
Forward Madison FC assistant coach Jim Launder spoke with News 3 Now about what the team’s success means to him.
“It’s a huge day and every time we play England, it’s like the revolutionary war all over again,” he said.
Friday’s game ended in a 0-0 draw.
Forward Madison plans to show all the World Cup games with doors open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
