MADISON, Wis. – Santa Claus may have some magic in him, but even he has deadlines to meet.
The US Postal Service said Monday that the cutoff date is fast approaching to have holiday gifts and greetings arrive at their destinations on time.
Retail Ground service, First-Class Mail service and First-Class packages should be mailed or shipped by Dec. 17 to ensure they arrive before Christmas morning.
The last day for on-time Priority Mail service is Dec. 19 and the last day for on-time Priority Mail Express service is Dec. 22.
The USPS is also expanding service during the holiday season. Mail carriers will begin delivering on Sundays in areas with high package volumes, and Priority Mail Express packages will also be delivered on Christmas Day in select areas for an added fee.
In Wisconsin, select Postal facilities will extend their hours and offer full retail services such as stamp sales and package acceptance during the next few weeks.
