JANESVILLE, Wis. — Local, state, and federal veterans organizations gathered in Janesville Wednesday to host a health and benefits fair.
Veterans of all ages could come to the fair to learn more about job opportunities, health and mental health services, and educational opportunities. The event was part of the PACT Act Week of Action, which involved more than 90 town hall events across the country.
The act was recently passed and expands care and benefits for veterans. Organizers say they’re already planning more events like this one.
“(It was an) excellent turnout, and this was on short notice, too,” Army veteran Mike Zientek said. “So I’m even more excited about future benefit fairs, because we’ll have more word out, so that’ll be excellent.”
