MADISON, Wis. — South-central Wisconsin has seen a fair amount of snowfall over the past few weeks, just in time for Christmas.
If you’re expecting mail and packages for the holidays, it’s important to keep things safe for postal workers. That means clearing snow and ice from around sidewalks, steps and mailboxes.
US Postal Service officials asked Monday that snow piles left by plows be cleared from around mailboxes so that letter carriers can access them. If walkways and streets have hazardous conditions, deliveries may be delayed.
Businesses with a blue USPS collection box nearby should also clear snow and ice from around the boxes.
