JANESVILLE, Wis. — Janesville police say they are investigating a commercial fire Wednesday night as a possible case of arson.
The Janesville Police and Fire Departments were called to the Michaels store on Deerfield Drive just before 8 p.m. Wednesday. Police say employees were able to put the fire out and get all customers out of the store safely.
While the cause of the fire is still unknown, the initial indication is the fire started in the yarn aisle and may have been smoldering for several minutes before fully igniting.
Police are encouraging anyone with information to call the Rock County dispatch non-emergency line at 608-757-2244.
