LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Health experts are reminding everyone traveling this weekend to make time for safety.
Every holiday season, there’s a spike in vehicle crashes and deaths. Mayo Clinic health experts say they treat up to five times more injuries and deaths than on normal weekdays.
Doctors want to remind everyone to not drink and drive and to always buckle up.
“Seatbelts save lives,” says Emergency Physician for Mayo Clinic Michael Boniface. “They reduce your risk of dying by about 50% in major car accidents.”
If you’re in the driver’s seat, put away your phone. Distracted driving can easily cause a crash.
