MIDDLETON, Wis. — Two people suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries in a crash on U.S. Highway 14 west of Middleton Sunday morning, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office said.
The crash was reported around 4:45 a.m. In a news release, the sheriff’s office said a 24-year-old woman was heading west on Highway 14 in the area of Millers Curve when she crashed into a vehicle heading east that was being driven by a 19-year-old man.
Both drivers were taken to UW Hospital in Madison for medical treatment.
The sheriff’s office said the woman will be cited for operating left of center.
Highway 14 was closed between Rocky Dell Road and Twin Valley Road for roughly seven hours while officials investigated the crash.
The release did not say what may have led to the crash or whether slippery road conditions were a factor.
