JANESVILLE, Wis. — Police are investigating a man’s death after bystanders found him unresponsive in a Janesville park Monday evening.
In a news release, the Janesville Police Department said two people found the man sleeping on a wall in Volunteer Park in the 200 block of North Main Street around 6:30 p.m. Monday. The duo checked on the man and found him unresponsive.
First responders tried to resuscitate the man, but he was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
Police said there was no sign of trauma to the man’s body and that while it’s unclear what led to his death, foul play is not suspected.
Police are not releasing the man’s name until his family can be notified but said he is a white man between 40 and 50 years old.
