ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) — Miss America visited Onalaska to serve as a guest judge for Saturday’s Show Choir Classic competition.
Grace Stanke, who was recently crowned Miss America, is from Wisconsin.
She said Miss America is about empowering women and girls and hopes to spread that message in her role.
She cited the other girls she competed against for the title this year.
“We had so many incredible, powerful female role models that we are continuing to need in society. And that’s what Miss America is all about– we are promoting those women, we are promoting that powerful platform,” Stanke said.
She also performed a song on her violin for the competition on Saturday evening.
Stanke said she enjoys connecting with girls and learning their stories as she travels.
