Man Arrested After Striking Another Man With a Bat

Police say a man struck another man with a bat during a disturbance Saturday night in Dubuque. 36 year old Michael Blackburn of Dubuque was arrested around 11:30pm Saturday in the area of East 17th Street and Central Avenue on charges of going armed with intent, willful injury, possession of methamphetamine and interference with official acts.According to a report, Blackburn was involved in a disturbance at around 11:30 p.m. in the area of 16th Street and Central Avenue when he pulled a 17-inch wooden bat from his waistband and struck another man in the head and arms, causing swelling and cuts.
