Authorities in Lafayette County say a fire destroyed a shed and its contents Sunday in rural Shullsburg. According to reports, Firefighters responded at about 4:45 p.m. to a shed on County Highway E. The shed contained vehicles and equipment. The structure was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived, and the shed and its contents were a total loss. That shifted authorities’ focus toward protecting adjacent buildings. One firefighter was treated at the scene for exhaustion by Shullsburg EMS. The cause iof the fire is unknown at this time but not suspicious. Mutual aid was provided by Benton, Darlington and Gratiot fire departments.
