On Saturday, shortly before 6am, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a Semi vs Car crash on Highway 129 near Lancaster. Lancaster Police, Fire, and EMS, along with deputies from the Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. According to a report, 39 year old Nicole Fiedler of Platteville, was traveling south on Highway 129 and took her eyes off the road to adjust the heat in her vehicle. Fiedler crossed into the northbound lane and struck a semi, driven by 29 year old Joshua Sullivan of Chippewa Falls. Sullivan drove toward the shoulder of Highway 129 to avoid the crash, however, Fiedler’s vehicle struck the driver’s side of the semi and trailer, coming to rest in the middle of Highway 129. Sullivan was able to bring the semi to a stop at the shoulder of Highway 129. Fiedler was taken to Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster with minor injuries. Fiedler was arrested on four outstanding warrants and she was cited for no insurance, inattentive driving, operating left of center, failure to register a vehicle, and display of unauthorized registration. Fiedler’s vehicle was a total loss and was removed from the scene by Arrow Towing. Sullivan’s semi and trailer had moderate damage and was removed from the scene by Guy’s Towing. Sullivan was not injured in the crash.
