Woman Throws Machete at Man in Dubuque

Police said a Dubuque woman threw a machete at a man during an argument, cutting his back. Police later arrested the man on drug charges. 38 year old Angel Omonayin of Dubuque was arrested Tuesday at her residence on charges of willful injury, domestic assault with injury, public intoxication and obstruction of emergency communication. A report says Omonayin was arguing with 38 year old Elias Montez Jr. of Dubuque. Montez called 911, and Omonayin scratched him across the chest. Montez was speaking to a dispatcher when Omonayin went to a closet to grab a machete. Omonayin threw the machete at Montez, causing a small laceration to his lower back. Montez was taken to UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital, where he was treated and released. He was later arrested on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
