Three Students Earn Scholarships Through National Merit Scholarship Program

Three local finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Corporation program have earned university-sponsored scholarships. Cora Harvey, of Hempstead High School, and Connor Link and Anna Van Otterloo, of Wahlert Catholic High School, all earned National Merit Scholarships from Iowa State University. According to a report, Harvey’s probable career field is genetics, while Link and Van Otterloo’s probable career fields are computer engineering and engineering. The three were among more than 3,000 finalists who won scholarships through colleges and universities. The scholarships are for $500 to $2,000 annually for up to four years.
