Dubuque Police say a man threatened to blow up a Dubuque bar during a disturbance. 36 year old Raheem Pickens was arrested Tuesday in the area of West 17th and Heeb streets on charges of threat of terrorism, first-degree harassment, second-offense operating while intoxicated and driving while barred. Reports say that officers were dispatched shortly after 8pm to Next Phase on Central Avenue for a report of a disturbance. A bartender at the establishment told police that Pickens had been outside the bar and said that he would “blow this place up tonight, all you guys are dead.” The bartender told police she was afraid Pickens would come back to the bar and carry out his threats. A witness told authorities that Pickens threatened to shoot up the bar and shoot an individual outside of the bar.
