President Biden has approved Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds request for emergency disaster assistance for counties along the Mississippi River which were affected by flooding from April 24th to May 13th. Dubuque, Clayton, and Jackson County were among the seven counties along the river to be approved for the assistance. According to a report, federal funding is available to state, tribal, eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by flooding.
