It’s Another Phone Scam in Dubuque County

Authorities are warning of a new phone scam in Dubuque County in which the caller claims a false connection to local law enforcement. The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department warned of the new scam this week in an online announcement. The announcement states that the caller falsely claims to be contacting the recipient with a legal matter from the sheriff’s department. Scammer then provides a number to call — 563-220-4351 — that has a fabricated voicemail message with the same claim. Authorities warned that the scammer and phone number are not connected to the sheriff’s office and that recipients should not share any personal information.
