Officials said four people were injured, two critically, when a roof partially collapsed at a Dubuque construction site Wednesday. First responders were dispatched at about 12:50 p.m. to John F. Kennedy Road for reports of an injured person at a construction site. Upon arrival, it became clear there had been a partial roof collapse at a building under construction at the location. Four people were taken by ambulance to area hospitals after the collapse. Two were in critical condition, and two sustained minor injuries. According to a report, the collapse happened at a construction site slated to become a large retail building and a medical office off of JFK. Switch Development LLC late last year announced plans for the project and recently started construction. The injured individuals were workers at the construction site. Work is now underway to determine what caused the collapse. There are no signs of criminal activity leading to the collapse.
