One Person Injured in 3 Vehicle Crash

Police said one person was injured in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday in Dubuque. 23 year old Emma Winders of Dubuque was taken by ambulance to UnityPoint Health-Finley Hospital for treatment of her injuries, According to Dubuque police, vehicle driven by 77 year old Gail Smith of Dubuque was northbound on Alta Vista Street and stopped at the stop sign at the intersection with Loras Boulevard at 3:03 p.m. Wednesday when Smith’s vehicle then failed to yield and proceeded into the intersection. Winders’ vehicle was traveling west on Loras and struck Smith’s vehicle, causing Smith’s vehicle to strike a vehicle driven south on Alta Vista by 19 yearold Claire McAllister, of Marion, Iowa. Smith was cited with failure to yield at a stop sign.
