Police say a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a deer in Dubuque Monday. Reports say 66 year old Herbert Deutmeyer Jr. of Asbury was taken by ambulance to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center before being transported to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment of serious injuries. Dupubuqe Police reported that Deutmeyer was operating a motorcycle north on the Northwest Arterial at around 5:45 p.m. Monday when a deer entered the roadway from the east. Deutmeyer’s motorcycle struck the deer near Associates Drive and slid approximately 20-30 feet before both the motorcycle and the deer came to a stop.
