Darlington’s Police Chief Leaving For Private Sector

Darlington’s police chief is stepping down after 30 years with the department to accept a job in the private sector. Police Chief Jason King informed the public of his impending departure on December 22nd. King said he has accepted a position as a security services supervisor with SSM Health at Monroe Hospital and Clinics. King’s last shift with the police department is today. The police commission has started its search for a new police chief. Sgt. Ben Conway will be in charge until a replacement is hired.
