Man Dies In Iowa County Snowmobile Crash

A Jefferson man is dead after a snowmobile crash in Iowa County Thursday morning. According to the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, authorities received a 911 call about a snowmobile crash on Military Ridge State Trail along U.S. Highway 18/151 around 10:40 a.m. Thursday. The scene of the crash was between County Highway BB and YZ. Despite life-saving efforts, 67-year-old Richard Koch of Jefferson died at the scene. A preliminary investigation shows the man was heading east on the trail when he lost control of the snowmobile, crashed, and was thrown off. The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
