Clear Snow and Ice From Mail Boxes To Help Your Mail Carriers

With snow and ice still causing problems across southern Wisconsin, the United States Postal Service on Friday asked that walkways and areas around mailboxes be kept clear to keep letter carriers safe. Postal Service officials said snow should be cleared around curbside boxes so that mail trucks can drive up, deliver mail and drive away without having to back up. Walkways and steps should be clear and have enough traction to prevent slipping. Overhangs should also be cleared of icicles and snow to prevent it from falling on letter carriers.
