Project in Place To Replace Crawford County Jail

The Crawford County Jail has been in need of work and now there is a replacement project in place. The project will see the construction of a new jail and reconstruction of the existing sheriff’s office. The jail will open with 42 beds of inmate housing and an internal expansion of 34 beds to achieve a 30-40 year projection of 76 beds. A new Sheriff’s office and 911 Dispatch center will be located in the new jail. The existing sheriffs office will be renovated to provide expansion for their operations. An open house meeting to ask questions about the project will be held Monday, February 19 from 4 to 7 PM at the Crawford County Administration building. A second meeting will be held on Feb. 20 at 11 AM. Construction s projected to start in Summer/Fall of 2024.
