Police said a Dubuque man assaulted three people at an area bar Saturday morning. 35 year old Charles Hyde of Dubuque was arrested at 3:30 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Central Avenue and 17th Street on three counts of assault causing injury. According to reports, Dubuque Police Department officers responded at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday to Next Phase, on Central Ave., for a report of a physical disturbance. Upon arrival, multiple people involved with the disturbance were located. Witnesses said Hyde walked up to a group of people at the bar and asked if they wanted to fight. As the group attempted to leave, Hyde continued to argue with them before assaulting three of them by punching them in the face multiple times. Officers contacted Hyde after the incident, and Hyde said that he had argued with the group but that one of the individuals from that group hit him first.
