Police say two people were injured Friday in a three-car accident. 73 year old Daniel McDonnell and his passenger, 74 year old Margie McDonnell, both of Dubuque, suffered minor injuries in the crash and were taken by ambulance to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center. A report says the crash occurred around 2:40 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Algona Street and University Avenue. 16 year old Hayleigh Forster of Dubuque was traveling southbound on Algona Street when she ran a stop sign and hit the McDonnells’ vehicle, which was traveling eastbound through the intersection along University Avenue. Forster’s vehicle flipped onto its side, and the McDonnells’ vehicle continued after impact into the front of a vehicle driven by 42 year old Avery Cory of Dubuque, who was stopped at the northbound stop sign on Algona Street. Forster was cited with failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way and failure to provide proof of financial liability.
