AAA is activating ‘Tow to Go’ for the upcoming St Patrick’s Day weekend, in hopes that drivers do not drive drunk. When a driver calls Tow to Go, AAA sends a tow truck to drive the drunk driver and their car to a safe location within a 10-mile radius. The service is free, yet AAA asks that it be treated as a last resort. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, St. Patrick’s Day is one of the deadliest holidays on U.S. roads. In 2020, more than 11,000 people died in drunk-driving crashes. Tow to Go will be in effect from 6 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday.
