Dubuque police are investigating a large disturbance that took place Wednesday at Comiskey Park. According to online court documents, police responded to the park at about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday after multiple reports of physical disturbances in the area. Upon arrival, officers saw a group of “roughly 50 people” walking throughout the area. No physical altercations were ongoing upon officers’ arrival, though documents state several groups were yelling at one another. Officers remained on scene to supervise the area for approximately 10 minutes before a “very large” physical disturbance broke out involving more than 20 people. Documents state officers ran over to break up the fight and that many of the involved parties fled on foot. Two people have been arrested so far in connection with the incident. 22-year-old Diavion Ray of Dubuque was arrested on a charge of participation in a riot, and a minor also was charged. Dubuque Police Department Lt. Luke Bock said investigations continue and additional arrests are likely.
