A Madison man has been sentenced to six years in prison for making terroristic threats against multiple individuals in Grant County. 20 year old Jonah Riley received the sentence in Grant County Circuit Court after pleading no contest to two counts of making terroristic threats, one count of disorderly conduct and two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping. According to a report, the charges relate to two instances in which court documents state Riley made threats against area residents. On August 19, Riley posted online threats to individuals at the Grant County Fair and posted a photo holding a black handgun on social media. Authorities responded to the fair after the threats were reported, but neither Riley nor his car were located at the fair. The Grant County Sheriff’s Department later responded to Potosi High School on September 22 to speak with a student who reported receiving threatening text messages about someone coming and shooting up the football game in Cassville that night, The student told authorities his girlfriend reported being approached and harassed by Riley, who is her ex-boyfriend, at River Ridge High School on September 21. Riley then began sending threatening messages to both the girl and her current boyfriend. The male student shared screenshots with authorities of text messages from Riley that read “just know I’ll find her and you and make sure you’re both dead. Authorities pinged Riley’s phone, and he was located and arrested in Dane County.Â
