Name, image and likeness (NIL) could soon make its way to the high school level. This is a topic that the WIAA has been discussing for three years and one that 31 state associations across the country have already implemented. WIAA Associate Director Mel Dow says the membership has their annual meeting next Wednesday. If it votes positive, or if it’s passed, then it goes into implementation at the posting of the next monthly publication. That would be around the 20th of May. The NIL rules would be specific to the state of Wisconsin, and it would not be the exact same as what is done at the collegiate level.Â
