The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department reports that on Wednesday, a traffic stop was initiated on a vehicle on County Highway B in the Township of Utica. The operator of the vehicle was 40 year old Ryan Volden of Soldiers Grove. During the stop, a plastic baggie containing methamphetamine residue fell out of Volden’s pocket, and he was discovered to be in possession of an illegal narcotic, Hydrocodone. Volden was arrested and taken to the Crawford County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of an illegal narcotic. Following Volden’s arrest, the Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant for illegal narcotics at Volden’s residence in the Township of Utica. As a result, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia items were discovered and seized. Volden will be referred on additional charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.Â
