At the Prairie du Chien Board of Education’s April 29 special meeting, the atmosphere was lighter than usual among the board members. They had a good reason: High School Principal Doug Morris asked the board to rescind his resignation. Morris proffered his resignation for June 30. His announcement was the first of several administrative resignations in the district over the past two months, including the high school assistant principal and the middle school principal. But situations change. New circumstances arise. And Morris isn’t ready to leave; there’s still work to do. After a short discussion in close session, the board rescinded Morris’ resignation; the high school still has a principal.
