Gov. Tony Evers issued an executive order Tuesday for a special election for the 8th Congressional District. The district, which includes Green Bay and much of Northeast Wisconsin, has been without a vote in the House of Representatives since Mike Gallagher resigned in April. The special election will be held on November 5, coinciding with the general election when a new representative for the 8th District will be elected to a two-year term. The winner of the special election would serve in Congress for less than two months, providing Northeast Wisconsin with a vote in the House until the next Congress is sworn in on January 3, 2025.
