Woman From Cobb Arrested on Drug Charges

An Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 18-151 in the township of Brigham Tuesday around 2:35pm. During the stop there was a positive K-9 alert which resulted in the arrest of 48 year old Julie Porteous of Cobb. Porteous was charged with Operating with Control Substance, 2 counts of Felony Bail Jumping Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Resisting or Obstructing an Officer and Possession of Cocaine. Porteous was taken to the Iowa County Jail where she remains in custody. The Barneveld Area Rescue Squad was paged to the scene to evaluate one of the occupants of the vehicle and the Barneveld Fire Department assisted with traffic control during the stop.
