Richland Center Man Goes Missing From Wisconsin River

One of three men who were swept away by the current of the Wisconsin River Sunday afternoon remains unaccounted for. Sauk County Sheriff Chip Meister said three men were entering the river from a sandbar near Peck’s Landing in the Spring Green Township when they were swept away. One man was able to swim back to the sandbar and another man was rescued by a passing boat. The third man, a 24-year-old from Richland Center, was unaccounted for. The Sauk County Communications Center was notified of the situation at around 3:48 p.m. Sunday. Members of the Sauk County Dive Team, conservation wardens and the Spring Green and Lone Rock Fire Departments searched the river but had to suspend their search due to darkness. The search continued on Monday.
