A Dubuque man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for firing a gun during an argument. 51-year-old Kenneth Moore was convicted of possessing a firearm as a felon. The incident occurred on August 4, 2023, when Moore got into an argument on a porch in Dubuque. As two individuals tried to de-escalate the situation, prosecutors said Moore fired a pistol, nearly hitting two people. The bullet went through the front wall of the residence and lodged in the living room wall. Moore fled the scene but was arrested on August 16, 2023, when officers found the gun in his car. Moore, who has 11 prior felony convictions, was prohibited from possessing firearms. He was sentenced to 180 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
