The city of Dubuque is poised to add three new housing developments in central, walkable neighborhoods downtown. Local developers want to turn historical buildings on Central Avenue, Main and Iowa streets into apartment spaces with the support of the Dubuque City Council, which is set to consider the development agreements today. The properties will house small- to medium-size housing units. The projects range in cost from $430,000 to $2.7 million, and each is set to receive downtown housing incentive grant funding from the city, as well as tax increment financing (TIF). The planned new developments would add 19 units to the city’s housing stock.
