Dubuque celebrated the ribbon cutting for their new 911 dispatch center Thursday afternoon. The room was full of community members as city and county officials spoke about the new building and the important work dispatchers do. The new center is the product of yearslong planning between Dubuque County and the City of Dubuque. The new building allows dispatch to move from their current 450 square feet space to a space around 7,300 square feet, which will allow room for future expansion. Dubuque County Sheriff Joe Kennedy said,
Dispatchers will be moved in and working in their new office space by December 3rd.
